Disregarding the opposite opinion of his father, Nikola had faith that he will convince his father.
When Nikola came back home 🏡 after high school, he became a victim of Colera. It was a dangerous disease of that time. It was not so easy and general to cure it at that time like today. Many people died because of this disease.
Nikola's parents were much upset. They had lost one son before. The second was on the death bed. For eight months, when there were no symptoms of Nikola's being healthy, his father 👨 began to lose hope.
He said if my son will be healthy, I will educate him according to his will in the best institutions of the world 🌎. This point awakened the hope in Nikola's mind, his energy 🔋 to fight against the disease was introduced.
In the ninth or tenth month, Nikola left the bed 🛌 and his father left the decision to not make him a scientist.
In 1870, Nikola took admission to Grass University Austria 🇦🇹 to study 📚 engineering.
At that time, the industrial use of electricity had been started in a few countries including America. Machines were run by it. There was no domestic use of electricity at that time.
At that time, the direct current was used. It was started by one side of the circuit and was ended at the other side. It means that the electricity was being wasted.
Tesla' a genius brain 🧠 posts at this point in imagination and think 🤔 that how to save the current form wasting. It should come back from the other side and be in use. He discussed this theory in class with his teacher.
He was laughed at and called a fool and stupid. Everyone tried to break his heart but he did not lose heart. He trusted himself and keep on working on his theory.
He named his theory Alternating Current which is called A.C current abbreviationally.
It was a revolutionary theory. But it was a problem to do it practically. Because he had to invent a motor to save the current from wasting. This motor has to be used in every invention of electricity.
From this Tesla and its investors will be able to earn so much money as no one in the world 🌎 was able to earn.
But Nikola was a young man in his twenties and no one was ready to invest a big amount trusting his ideas.
But during these efforts, the people who were working on this idea recognised Tesla as their fellow. And they knew that an energetic young man 👨🏻🦰 wants to do something. And he has an idea. A man 👨 from the same field gave the job to Tesla.
From this, a story starts with a person who is a legend of the modern era.
From here a war starts which is called the war of currents. The job was given to Tesla in a famous company of famous scientist Thomas Edison. The job was to redesign all the generators of the Workshop. Tesla's pay was 100 dollars per month. But the scientist promised to give him a bonus of fifty thousand dollars for this task. Tesla needed money for his ideas and experiments so he worked hard to complete this task. He worked 17 hours a day. Then he slept 🌙 for two or three hours and again started working 🏢. He said I don't think 🤔 there is any thrill that can go through the human heart ❤️ like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain 🧠 unfolding to success. Such emotions make a man forget 🍕, sleep, friends, love and everything.
He redesigned all the generators in only six months and when he asked Edison for a bonus. He said I was just joking, you don't understand Americans humour. Tesla was hoping a big amount for his inventions, so this answer was a shock for him.
In January 1885, he wrote a line in his diary, GOODBYE EDISON MACHINE WORKS. He was unemployed. He had a great idea of A.C current, but there were no investors in America to spend on his ideas.
On the other hand, on O.C current Edison had his grip and he had money to spend on it. Edison was a beloved celebrity in America. He had earned worldwide Name, respect and money after bringing the light of the bulb in American 🗽 homes 🏡 and was earning.
There was no one to listen to the voice of an unsuccessfully, unemployed, coming from Croatia 🇭🇷 person 👤. Tesla was searching 🔍 investors with his A.C current IDEA 💡. But he found 🔍 no one. He found 🔍 a small job. He earned two dollars daily, work was to dig holes 🕳️ on roads of New York, to fix Arc lights. It means it was labour and the tender to fix the lights was of Edison's Company. This job was like a punishment.
Betrayed by men he trusted, Tesla considered the winter ❄️ of 1886/1887 a time of terrible headaches and tears 😭. He had to work as a ditch digger and his education was questioned. At this moment, he didn't leave his dream.
Everyone has a chance and who is not prepared for the chance is wasted with the chance. Tesla found the chance.
One day he told the foreman about his Induction motor. It was the motor he designed 🎨 in Europe and A.C current was used in it. Foreman was very impressed 😮 by Tesla.
Because he felt that this labourer was very different from others. He arranged a meeting of Tesla with an engineer Alfred Brown. When Tesla Alfred about his motor and A.C current successful practical use.
Tesla started a company in partnership with Alfred Brown. The company's name was Tesla Electric Company. Tesla found 🔍 250 dollars pay in this company. Tesla was very hardworking. He very soon prepared a complete system of generating electricity from A.c current.
He registered A.C current and all generators and power supplies in his name. He became the competitor of his ex-boss. There were many companies of power supply in America. But all of them were on direct current.
When the direct current was paying better to them, there was no reason to invest in new technology. It was the thinking 💭 of many investors. To compete for D.C current, it was the only way to ensure to bring cheap electricity to every street of America. He needed more investment for this.
He started to give demos to investors to ensure that Tesla's ideas work more than Edison's. From these demos, he found 🔍 one big investor.
His name was George Weston house. But he was not successful in making it cheaper and practical. He was preparing only machines on a low scale.
When George testing see that Tesla was solving his problem and he has a chance to defeat all his competitors with the help of Tesla. He offered to purchase all the patterns dealing with alternating current systems, for one million dollars. He also agreed to pay royalties of 2.50$ per hour power of electricity capacity sold. Tesla could have royalties till George's Company was selling electricity. You can imagine how rich 🤑 was Tesla going to be. He could be a millionaire. George Weston house made a new company. Now George get tenders of electricity using Tesla's D.C current. It was the beginning of A.C current. D.C current was a low voltage and could not go to a long-distance. It was necessary to make a powerhouse 🏠 on every mile to provide electricity to a big city. D.C current needed a heavy amount.
Tesla's A.c current was high voltage and it could be brought from thousands of kilometres through wires. Only one powerhouse could provide electricity to the whole city. It was much better and cheaper in comparison to D.C.
It was bad news for Edison and the other companies of D.C current.
They tried their best to prove A.C current harmful to mankind.
But after a long war of efforts, Time decided that A.C current was better than D.C current.
